Frank Lloyd Wright patterns

In 1955 Elizabeth Gordon, editor of House Beautiful, requested Frank Lloyd Wright to design a pattern collection. This way the architected created his first and only textile patterns. The fabrics were manufactured by F. Schumacher & Co and today, more than sixty years after, Schumacher had relaunched his designs collaborating with The Frank Lloyd Wright Foundation.

The Frank Lloyd Wright’s patterns still seem contemporary, maybe complex and intricate, but with and amazing colors combination. Dara Caponigro, creative director of Schumacher’s, explains that “anyone who loves design will appreciate their integrity and originality” because “they have Wright’s indelible signature all over them and marry substance and style in a thoroughly unique way.”
